CERAMIC COATING MAINTENANCE & AFTERCARE
Ceramic Coatings aren’t indestructible. They can and will eventually wear away. We advise ALL coating customers to avoid the brush/touch automatic car washes. In addition, you should never use the brush in the DIY car wash bays on your vehicle’s paint. This can and will damage the coating and your vehicle’s clear coat. Â
Touchless car washes are “okay”, however, ceramic coated vehicles should be maintained via proper “2-Bucket” hand wash method using pH neutral soap. If you do decide to go to a touchless car wash, opt for the cheapest package. Wax will hinder the performance of the coating.

/01WHAT IS A CERAMIC COATING?
This nano Silica Dioxide protective coating is hand applied after extensive prep work has been completed. Once the coating has properly cured, the result is an ultra thin, glass-like barrier between your vehicle's paint and the elements. Not only does this semi-permanent coating protect against light swirls and etching caused by bird bombs, but hydrophobic properties produce a "self-cleaning" ability as well as significantly improving gloss.
/02HOW LONG DO CERAMIC COATINGS LAST?
Ceramic Coatings durability depends on a number of factors. The biggest factor, is the substrate the coating is bonding to.Â
Certain coatings are meant for certain types of materials. Ceramic Coatings intended to bond to paint can last anywhere from 1 to 10 years! Other coatings such as those that bond to wheels, calipers, exhaust tips, and certain types of metals present on motorcycles are meant to bond to services that experience a high amount of heat. These coatings can last up to 3 years. On glass, you can expect up to 1 year of durability due to the amount of wear and tear it faces from the wiper blades, road grime and debris.
/03WHAT DO CERAMIC COATINGS PROTECT AGAINST?
Ceramic Coatings protect against a number of things. On painted surfaces such as a vehicles exterior, wheels and calipers, ceramic coatings prevent against:
âšÂ UV damage and oxidation
âšÂ Chemical etching from bird droppings, bug splatter
âšÂ Iron deposits such as break dust
âšÂ Minor water spotting
On Leather & Fabric:

/04HOW IS THE SURFACE PREPARED FOR A CERAMIC COATING?
Depending on the surface the coating is being applied to, prep can be a very lengthy process.
The surface goes through a multi-step wash and decontamination process to clean and remove contaminates from the surface. The surface is then goes through a paint correction to remove small scratches and swirl marks and ensure a smooth surface for application. Once the paint correction has been completed, the surfaces is then cleaned once again with a special solution to remove any oils that have been left behind by the compound and/or polish. The coating is then applied by hand and cured in a climate controlled garage.

Coating durability also is largely based on maintenance. Hand washes are always recommended to maintain a ceramic coating. Just like a wax, abrasion can wear away the coating, which is why we advise against automatic car washes. These wreck havoc on your vehicles paint. Contrary to what you may have been told, a ceramic coating does not protect against the damage caused by automatic car washes.Â

The cost of a ceramic coating will vary from vehicle to vehicle. There are a number of factors that go into the prep of the vehicle that can adjust the price. We offer several different types of pro-grade coatings with different durability ratings. These can also adjust the price of the service.Â
We will discuss this pricing with you when you bring your vehicle by the shop for the initial inspection. We will give you the best options for your vehicle and keeping your budget in mind!
